Cormac McCarthy Trio

Cormac McCarthy Trio

Reimagined covers and speculative marketing campaign for a trio of Cormac classics.

This project revolves around creating a visual system of cover designs, along with marketing campaign materials for an imagined re-release of three of Cormac McCarthy's staples.

Leaning into the atmospheric and visceral nature of McCarthy's work, the three covers portray scenes depicting the aftermath of violence, suggest decay, and aim to bring the reader into the worlds that are so vividly described in the books. An earthy and subdued color palette of rust brown, blood red, and ash gray is used to further ground the scenes in realism. Large, bone-colored wood type is used for the author and title, that, when combined with each cover's top color block, create a visual system that can be applied across other McCarthy titles.

Along with the covers are accompanying marketing materials: an animated banner, a social media carousel, and promotional bookmarks.
